What is an escape game and why will you love it?

Maybe you are an experienced matador and escape games are one of your favourite pastimes. But what if you've never encountered the term before? Let's get to know the phenomenon of escape games a little better. You'll find that once you've tried an escape game, you'll want to play it again and again.

What is an escape game

An escape game is a game in which players try to complete all given tasks and find solutions to puzzles and riddles within a time limit. What does it look like in practice?

  • You will arrive approximately 10 to 15 minutes before the start of your time slot.
  • Our room master will introduce you to the rules of the game and get you up to speed.
  • He will then lead you to the room and from that point on it's up to you.
  • You usually have 60 minutes of clear time to play. Your task is to solve all the puzzles and reach the finish line.

How the escape game works

Imagine you and your friends are locked in a room and you have to get out. What now? Start looking for a clue. Look in the desk drawers, turn the statues on the shelf upside down or peek behind the curtains. You'll soon find your first clue. It could be a key or a letter. Quickly try which locks the key fits into or read the message the writer left for you in the letter. Each puzzle you solve will take you further into the game and gradually you will discover new hiding places.

What you need during the escape game

Wondering what you should take with you to the escape game? It's easy. Don't take anything at all. You leave your phone at the reception and during the game you will only need your own intelligence, wit, logic and observation.

How to play and win

To enjoy the game, follow a few simple rules. You'll find that you'll enjoy the game a lot more.

  • Come relaxed. During the game you have to work quickly and think sharply. If you are tired and sleep deprived, your cognitive abilities will decrease.
  • Do not drink alcohol before the game. It will dull your senses and you won't be able to solve the tasks. Have a beer with your group after the game and discuss how you liked the theme.
  • Collaborate and communicate with the whole team. Let each other know what you're working on, what you found, or what's written in the letter.
  • Are you stuck? Don't be afraid to ask the room master for help. Or swap tasks amongst yourselves and look at the solution from a different angle.

Why you'll enjoy the escape game

Players love escape games for many reasons:

  • You work as a team during the game. That's why escape game is also a popular pastime during teambuilding.
  • You learn to communicate quickly and share your thoughts.
  • Do you remember fighting games at camp? That's exactly how you'll feel. You'll have a lot of fun and excitement.
  • Some games are scary, others funny and others thrilling. Choose one that will stir the right emotions in you.
  • You will be charged with positive energy that will last long after the game is over.
